Our time in this dimension lasts for relatively the time an eyelid takes
to blink .. Use wisely this time you have here to make your life a
positive contribution to our universe.
Thanks
for visiting,
I
write about Life from more than a fictional point of view.
After flat lining twice during brain surgery after a Marine
Corps Officer Candidate School tragedy, Quantico, Virginia, I was awakened with a
sixth sense of Life and an illuminating view of the physical
world in which I found myself living.
Recovering
from massive head trauma and amnesia, in therapy at Bethesda
Naval Hospital, I was to write
what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner and what was reported
in news broadcasts so that I could train my memory. Three
years later, these journals of cognitive exercise led me back to
Hampton University, where I continued my mass media studies and
where I graduated with multiple honors.
In
1990, after Hampton, I was awarded a writing fellowship with
Paramount Pictures and Eddie Murphy Productions in Hollywood.
Over the next years, I worked for production companies at
Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Studios and Orion Pictures.
Some of my shows include: Tequila and Bonetti; South
Central; Quantum Leap; Coach; Major Dad;
L.A. Law; Harry and the Hendersons; Murder, She
Wrote; Columbo, movie of the week; and the major
motion picture, A Berry Merry Christmas. I was also
nominated for an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy
Award.
Years
and a new lifetime later in Florida, I am a father, husband,
author, screenwriter, playwright, and producer painting pictures with words
for the world to see and appreciate itself better in the cosmos.
I am, as we all are, growing each day closer to the day that my
body dies. During the time I have left in this form, I pray for
the universe and individual well being, growth, and development.
I pray for the children of tomorrow that they might further
expand the progress we have made as human beings. As a mentor
for Take Stock In Children, I strongly urge each adult to reach
out and help a child in need ~ please mentor.
My
published books so far are: Jason’s
Final Coming
and Helvena.
My
third book, Surviving Head
Trauma, non-fiction,
was published in October of 2009. This book is about living with
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for more than twenty-five years.
For
your enjoyment and life lesson, you should read one of my favorite short stories: Queen
Benita. I
wrote this when I had writer’s block many years ago in L.A.
I am also an associate producer on Sunshine
Boxing Show which airs
every Saturday at 12:30 EST via www.PeopleTV.org.
Tune in for worldwide
broadcast each week.
My
latest play, titled: The
Funny Thing About Death,
is being produced by the UpStage Theater Company in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, directed Dr. Ava Brewster-Turner in the 2010
season. This production is a twisted tale of how we think we
understand so much about being alive and our impressions
of death. As we get closer to
performance dates, I'll be
sure to let you know when to attend.
Thank
you for visiting this address in cyberspace. I hope that from
your experience, you will discover inside yourself the massive expansion
of our existence.
Much
Love,
Terry
Smith
